Iranian actress Hengamih Ghaziani published a video clip on her Instagram account, last Saturday, in which she appeared without a veil, tying her hair in the form of a ponytail.
Ghaziani commented on the post, saying: “This may be my last post, and from this moment on, if anything happens to me, know that I will always be with the people of Iran until my last breath.”
One day after the video was published, security forces arrested Ghaziani based on a court-issued arrest warrant, according to Tasnim.
Subsequently, Ghaziani was brought to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, where she was charged with working against Iranian security and participating in propaganda activities directed against the Iranian regime, according to what was announced by the Iranian state-affiliated Fars News Agency.
In another incident, the Iranian security forces arrested the Iranian actress, Katyon Riahi, last Sunday, according to what the “Tasnim” agency reported.
Riahi published a video clip of her without a veil on her Instagram account on September 18, two days after the death of Mahsa Amini, which led to the outbreak of nationwide protests.
Riahi is known for her roles in TV series such as “The Prophet Youssef” and “The Tenth Night”, both of which were produced and broadcast on Iranian state television, in addition to films such as “The Last Supper”.
At the beginning of November, the United Nations said that about 14,000 people had been arrested in Iran since the outbreak of protests on September 26.
