The agency stated that Prince Mohammed bin Salman affirmed “the kingdom’s position in support of everything that contributes to de-escalation, and the kingdom’s readiness to continue its mediation efforts.”
On his Twitter account, Zelensky said that he had spoken to the Saudi crown prince and thanked him for supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity by endorsing the UN General Assembly resolution, adding: “We agreed to release a group of prisoners of war and provide financial aid to Ukraine.”
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, last month, the release of “ten prisoners” of citizens of Morocco, the United States, Britain, Sweden and Croatia, as part of a prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine mediated by Saudi Arabia.
