On Thursday, Sisi said, in his speech on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of this day, that “June 30, 2013 will remain an immortal day in our conscience, generation after generation, in which Egyptians chose the future they would accept for their children and grandchildren.”
He added: “We faced great waves of black terrorism and a cursed alliance between the forces of evil and destruction that wanted and still want to undermine our homeland, those waves that crashed on the rocks of the solid will of the Egyptians.”
Al-Sisi directed his speech to the Egyptian people, saying: “Your country is on the right path with a solid national will that seeks only the common good and does not focus on anything but your aspirations towards a decent life and a secure and prosperous future.”
He added: “As Egypt has crossed difficulties throughout its ancient history, I have full confidence that it will cross the current international crises with their local repercussions and will continue its path towards building an advanced state, a secure homeland, and a stable and vibrant society. Our ally.”
The Egyptian president said: “We faced an unprecedented economic situation, so we sought help from it, after God, with the legendary steadfastness of a great people, as he once taught humanity civilization and civilization. The example is now set in realizing the value of the homeland and preserving it and enduring hardships for that.”
He added, “We were not satisfied with confronting these challenges and using them as excuses to postpone the battle of development and progress, but we went on the two tracks together, staying and building, the survival of the state, consolidating its pillars, and building the future. So the arms of our sons and daughters launched in every inch of the land of Egypt. The tremendous effort that Egypt has made during the past years cannot be wasted, as our support has now become in the face of two of the most difficult and most severe global crises for all countries of the world, namely the Corona pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
Al-Sisi said about the two crises: “You are not aware of the extent of the harm that has befallen larger and more developed countries due to the pandemic and the resulting disruption to global supply chains, as well as the war and the unprecedented crisis in food associated with it, whether in availability or prices, and I tell you with all honesty that Had it not been for the National Economic Reform Program that has been successfully and meticulously implemented since 2016, and this has been witnessed far and wide, and had it not been for the development efforts that have been achieved in the past years that raced against time, facing the repercussions of the current international situation would have been very difficult.
