On the sidelines of the inauguration of Monday’s projects, Sisi called on civil society organizations to help ease the burden on Egyptians.
He said: “The issue is no longer related to investment. The issue that we are talking about with the private sector, civil society organizations and the government is not investment. Rather, it has become to maintain the state of stability in the country here, because if the pressure increases on the citizen, what will he do?”
Al-Sisi indicated that Egypt was affected by the two crises of the Corona pandemic, and then the Ukrainian crisis, “which has a great impact on the world and we are part of it.”
He added: “We have not yet bitten, we have dried up when they meet. Our income per year is a trillion dollars. They calculated me, other than that, I am still early (…) I sleep and dream of a trillion dollars.”
Al-Sisi stated that his call on civil society to help maintain stability was not related to “maintaining order” or maintaining it as president.
And the Egyptian president said: “Beware, think about saying stability like this because I am, no, by God, I swear by God (…) by God Almighty. I am only talking about a state of community satisfaction and a state of stability, from which I do not aim to maintain order or preserve the president, meaning, no, by God Almighty.”
He added: “If something happens and people are no longer satisfied, you are talking about 100 million that we will waste, civil society organizations should not sleep. Your role is not only to protect people, the issue is greater than that, because the conditions in which we are present and their continuation that we do not know will end when, if not We are present and relieve them as much as possible (…) because the issue is pressing.”
Al-Sisi said that his government had taken measures, “without it, prices would have been much higher,” he said.
Al-Sisi stated that the government is working to control the prices of fuel and electricity. He pointed out that it postponed the increase in electricity prices for the third time, saying: “The electricity did not make a decision to provide it, and I spoke with Dr. Mustafa this 3 times to postpone the program so that it does not affect the people.”
