The religious sector of the Ministry of Awqaf confirms that the ministry is very keen to establish Tarawih prayers with ease and calmness for the worshipers in light of the faith atmosphere of the holy month, and that it has not and will not take any action regarding cutting off prayer for anyone, and none of its leaders at any level issued any directive to do so. In the event of any transgression, the role of the inspector is merely to monitor the transgression without any intervention or action from him towards the mosque, and the competent directorate studies the matter and treats it with its knowledge.
What happened in Al-Maraghi Mosque in Helwan was the director of the directorate noticing that an unauthorized person from the directorate had led the way, so he summoned the director of the administration to find out the matter and find out the reason for the absence of the imam of the mosque on this day. He prays quickly to end his prayer, fearing that the mosque will be closed, so Dr. Khaled Salah, director of the Cairo Endowments Directorate, directly intervened, confirming that no one had ever ordered either to end the prayer or to cut it off, and that the mosque was open and will remain open, God Almighty, and he presented himself to the qiblah and completed the Tarawih prayer as an imam. The imam of the mosque who is absent on this day has been referred for investigation, and the director of the administration has been referred to investigate why he allowed an unauthorized person from the endowments to lead the people.
The Ministry confirms its instructions to all inspectors that their role is only to monitor any violation without contact with the people or even the mosque workers during the times of performing rituals, but rather they submit their reports of any violation to the director of their department to implement his affairs in dealing with any violation by advocacy and legal methods together.
The Ministry emphasizes several things:
First: Its role is to serve the homes of God (Almighty and Glorious be He) and its visitors, and to provide the appropriate and appropriate climate and atmosphere for them to perform their rituals in peace and serenity, and there is no evidence for that from the fact that it played this great role in building the houses of God (Exalted be He) by building, opening, maintaining, brushing, cleaning, and preparing in numbers. It is unprecedented and a very distinguished level, as it opened in the last month alone more than 250 mosques.
And that when she was forced to take her decision regarding tahajjud and i’tikaaf, it was never an individual or arbitrary decision, but rather an institutional decision through the Epidemiology and Health Pandemic Crisis Management Committee in the Council of Ministers with a common religious and health vision. An entity or institution may issue any single decision in this regard as long as there is a joint national committee entrusted with the matter. The vision here is an institutional vision based on the religious and national interest, and these institutions can only meet on what achieves the public interest.
Third: We ask God Almighty to expedite the lifting of the affliction from the country and the servants, and for the houses of God (Almighty and Majestic) to return to work with their full energy and vitality in the service of religion and society, with our emphasis on intensifying religious awareness lessons through the lessons of the age and thoughts of Tarawih, and emphasizing in that that Whoever was doing a job and was imprisoned for an excuse, then the reward for this work will be written for him in full and not diminished, as our Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) said: “If a servant becomes ill or travels, he writes for him of the work that he was doing while he is healthy and resident.”
Then the doors of goodness are wide, so if one of them is closed for a valid excuse, then all the doors are not closed and the doors of mercy are not closed, and the tahajjud, as stated by the scholars, can be performed at home. In addition to everything that is available from remembrance and reading the Qur’an, and the night prayer is not confined to the mosque, so stay in your house and strive to the best of your ability, as well as the duty of the time of solidarity and compassion, feeding food and enriching the poor in these days, asking God (Almighty) to inform us And to you, the Night of Decree, and to grant us acceptance in it, and to hasten the demise of this pandemic from our dear Egypt and the rest of the countries of the worlds, and to grant us and you good understanding and good acceptance.
