Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health and Population, announced the start of implementing a plan to automate human resources in all health affairs directorates throughout the Republic, in addition to implementing a plan to automate hospitals affiliated with the Ministry.
This came during a meeting held by the minister yesterday, Thursday, within the framework of reviewing the digital transformation plan to upgrade the health system, in the presence of Dr. Hazem El-Fil, head of the therapeutic medicine sector, and engineer Ai Sam Salah, advisor to the minister for information technology.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, indicated that the minister stressed the importance of digital transformation in developing the performance of work systems within the hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population, stressing that the unified and automated database contributes to facilitating the inventory of all employees’ data in all sectors, bodies and directorates. In addition to facilitating and completing administrative procedures for employees electronically, instead of the paper system.
Abdel Ghaffar explained that the minister directed the launch of a project to automate all hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population, in light of the measures taken by the Egyptian state to upgrade the health system and raise the efficiency of medical services provided to citizens, so that the “Umm Al Masryeen” hospital in Giza Governorate is the first destination to implement The project, due to its important geographical location, and serves a large number of residents of the surrounding area, explaining that the mechanization project will be successively generalized to the rest of the hospitals in the various governorates of the Republic.
Abdel Ghaffar stressed that the hospital automation project will allow the creation of a health file for every citizen, through which health services and care can be received from any nearby health center or hospital, which will reflect on the integration and interdependence of units, centers and hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health, noting that the unified health file is It will contribute to a qualitative leap in the quality and facilitation of health services for the citizen, in addition to rationalizing expenditures and improving the mechanisms of managing the health care process in order to provide an outstanding medical service at the lowest cost.
He continued that the hospital automation project includes the process of managing the health system inside hospitals, including purchases, organizing and distributing doctors’ schedules, linking all hospital departments and the referral system from one department to another and from a general practitioner to specialists, according to the patient’s needs, in addition to providing data and statistics that contribute to Practical research and facilitate researchers’ access to the data required for their scientific research, while protecting the privacy of citizens’ data.
