Ahmed Abu Abla, Al-Ahly’s team doctor, revealed the developments in the condition of Tunisian international Ali Maaloul, the left back of the red team, after the injury he suffered recently.
Maaloul was injured in Al-Ahly’s training before the Raja match, where tests proved that he had a strain in the connective muscle, which kept him away from the first leg.
And Al-Ahly’s doctor said, in statements via the official website, today, Sunday, that Maaloul continues to implement his training program alone in the “gym” to get rid of the injury.
Abu Abla explained that Maaloul’s condition is improving, and he will accompany the team’s mission to Morocco to complete his qualifying training, especially since the opportunity exists to catch up with the Raja match in Morocco.
Al-Ahly defeated Raja 2-1, in a meeting held yesterday evening, Saturday, at the “Al-Ahly we are peace” stadium, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.
The return leg is scheduled to take place at the Mohammed V Sports Complex next Friday at 12:00 pm Cairo time.
It is worth noting that Al-Ahly needs to get out of Casablanca with a goalless draw to qualify for the quarter-finals, while the Raja team must win (1-0) to advance.
