Google announced its best annual apps in the year’s list, as the company said through its official blog: “At this time of the year we celebrate the best that Google Play has to offer, and this year the company has added new categories saying that Android users will find suitable and useful in particular, such as the options it has Best apps for personal growth and daily needs.
As has been the case over the past two years, users voted for their favorites in each category, and Disney + emerged as the best app of the year for users in the US with SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off receiving honors in the gaming category, and his favorite movie was Bad Boys for Life’s Book of the Year’s Choice, and it was Stephen King’s If It Bleeds.
Users of the US version of Google Play have had their say, by choosing Loóna, the bedtime relaxation app as the best app of 2020.
And The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, inspired by Genshin Impact, as the best game from the Play Store this year.
The full list of awards included citations in a number of other categories, including Chris Hemsworth’s Centr Fitness & Nutrition app as one of the best Personal Growth and Zoom apps in the Everyday Essentials section.
United Nations ShareTheMeal was also named one of the Store’s Best Apps Forever, while Disney + and Dolby On were mentioned in their list of top entertainment apps.
